Audience Trends
Audience Trends
Audience Trends is PJQ's birdview dashboard. While the Seismograph analyzes a single video, Audience Trends shows aggregate movement over time across YouTube categories. One layout, two sources you switch between.
Showcase — real YouTube trends
Live trends straight from the YouTube API, independent of our own data: the views, likes, and comments of currently-trending videos, grouped by the ~15 YouTube categories (News & Politics, Music, Education, Gaming, …). Snapshots are collected several times a day, so a timeline builds up over time.
* Regions: view the whole world (a global aggregate across all regions) or pick up to 5 countries to see geography that doesn't surface in the global chart.
* Hover or tap a point to see the top videos in that time bucket.
Our Data — what the audience actually receives
Real PJQ metrics aggregated by YouTube category over time, built from the videos people run through the Seismograph:
* Analyses — how many verdicts landed in each category (stacked).
* Mood — average net mood (−1 … +1).
* Polarization — average controversy (0 … 1).
Controls
* Step: Day / Week / Month / Year — click the active step to pick a finer window (hours, days, weeks, months).
* Volume / Growth: absolute totals, or the change versus the previous bucket. Growth revives lines that look flat when plotted against billions.
* Linear / Log: Log puts billions and thousands on one chart so small categories stay visible.
Categories with no data in the current window are dimmed and marked "not trending" — an honest empty, not a bug. The dashboard updates automatically; nothing is manually curated.
